Geyserville, CA (October 15, 2024) — A fatal two-car collision on U.S. Highway 101 near Canyon Road left one person dead and five others injured around noon on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

A southbound Honda Accord, traveling at an unsafe speed in rainy conditions, lost control and crossed the grassy median, colliding with a northbound Subaru Outback. Four males, ages 19 and 20, were in the Honda. One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and two others were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The Subaru’s male driver and female passenger were also taken to Santa Rosa Memorial with major but non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, a baby in the back seat of the Subaru appeared unharmed.

The northbound lanes of U.S. 101 were closed for several hours following the crash and reopened around 4:30 p.m. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
