Boone County, MO (July 4, 2026) – A 22-year-old man was injured Thursday evening after his pickup truck overturned following a rear end collision on U.S. Highway 63 in Boone County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:38 p.m. on July 2 on northbound U.S. Highway 63 south of Missouri Highway 22. Troopers responded to investigate the collision involving a 1996 Ford Ranger and a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country.
The preliminary investigation found that the Ford Ranger, driven by a 22-year-old man from Clark, was traveling northbound when it struck the rear of the Chrysler Town and Country, which was being driven by a 39-year-old man from Moberly. Following the impact, the Ford Ranger traveled off the roadway and overturned, sustaining total damage. The Chrysler sustained extensive damage but was able to be driven from the scene.
The driver of the Ford Ranger suffered minor injuries and was transported by Boone Ambulance to University Hospital for treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Sergeant G.T. Pemberton and Trooper D.L. Holliday.
