According to reports, Louisiana State Police responded to the crash just after 1 a.m. on June 30. The victim, identified as 38-year-old Cody Moore of Jennings, was walking in the northbound lane of Louisiana Highway 26 near Trailer Town Road when a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the same direction struck him.
Moore suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was reportedly unrestrained at the time of the collision but was not hurt. Standard toxicology samples have been collected from both Moore and the driver as investigators work to determine what factors may have contributed to this deadly crash.
