Modesto, CA (August 7, 2025) — A man was killed early Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle on Yosemite Boulevard in Modesto, prompting a temporary road closure and an ongoing investigation.
According to reports, the fatal collision occurred on the morning of August 6, 2025, near the intersection of Yosemite Boulevard and Santa Cruz Avenue. Modesto Police say the victim was walking in the area when he was hit by a Toyota Tacoma traveling eastbound on Yosemite Boulevard, just west of Santa Barbara Avenue.
Emergency responders attempted to provide life-saving aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities have not released information regarding possible contributing factors, including whether impairment may have played a role.
Yosemite Boulevard was closed in both directions between Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa avenues for several hours while police conducted their investigation. The road has since reopened.
