News sources show that the fatal incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on July 27 at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a person down in the roadway and found a woman believed to be in her late 30s unresponsive.
Witnesses told investigators the vehicle involved was traveling westbound on Ventura Boulevard when it struck the woman, who was reportedly sitting in the roadway at the time of the collision.
