Yamhill County, OR (October 16, 2025) – A deadly pedestrian accident claimed the life of 66-year-old Larry Joseph Mervin Jacobs of Newberg on Monday evening along Highway 240, according to state police.
According to the Oregon State Police, the fatal incident occurred around 5:11 p.m. on October 13 near milepost 10. Authorities say Jacobs was in the roadway when he was struck by a westbound Toyota Rav4 driven by 47-year-old Holly Mclain of Cornelius.
Jacobs was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mclain was not injured during the crash.
