Huntington Beach, CA (July 7, 2025) — A suspected impaired driver is in custody after allegedly striking and killing a pedestrian in a deadly overnight crash on the city’s south side.
According to reports, the Huntington Beach Police Department responded around 12:45 a.m. on July 6 to the intersection of Atlanta Avenue and Delaware Street. Officers arrived to find a 35-year-old man from Huntington Beach lying unconscious in the roadway after being hit by a black Audi RS5. Paramedics were called, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
Authorities say the driver of the Audi, a 21-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while impaired. Investigators have not yet released the names of either the victim or the suspected driver.
