Bakersfield, CA (September 17, 2025) – A man was killed Monday night after being struck by two vehicles while crossing Union Avenue, according to local law enforcement.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 10:20 p.m. on September 15 in the 3300 block of Union Avenue. The Bakersfield Police Department reported that the man was walking east across Union Avenue outside of a designated crosswalk when a vehicle struck him.
Shortly after the initial collision, a second vehicle also hit the man. That second driver fled the scene without stopping. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on-site by emergency personnel.
The driver of the first vehicle remained at the location and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities are actively searching for the second vehicle and driver involved.
