Long Beach, CA (September 22, 2025) – A deadly collision involving a semi-truck claimed the life of a pedestrian in Long Beach on Friday afternoon, according to local police.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just before 4:05 p.m. on September 19 at the intersection of 67th Street and Paramount Boulevard. An adult male pedestrian was reportedly walking northbound in the middle of the roadway, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was hit by a southbound 2019 International semi-truck.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of his family.
The truck driver, a 51-year-old resident of Long Beach, remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
