Long Beach, CA (August 9, 2025) – A man died Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while walking his bicycle across Pacific Place in Long Beach, police said. The fatal collision happened just after 6 p.m. near the intersection with Wardlow Road.
According to reports, investigators said the man was crossing eastbound, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was hit by a northbound 2012 Toyota Corolla. Long Beach Fire personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. The driver of the Corolla stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police stated that speeding, impairment, and distraction do not appear to be factors. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
