Phoenix, AZ (December 20, 2024) – Daniel Jacobs, 30, tragically lost his life, and another man sustained critical injuries in a multi-vehicle crash Friday night near Indian School Road and Interstate 17.
The collision occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on December 13. Phoenix Police reported that Jacobs was driving his Infiniti sedan eastbound on Indian School Road when he ran a red light, colliding with a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 29-year-old man.
The impact caused Jacobs’ vehicle to leave the roadway, crash through a chain link fence, and fall approximately 30 feet onto the southbound lanes of Interstate 17. On the freeway, Jacobs’ vehicle was struck by a GMC Sierra truck driven by a 39-year-old man before coming to rest against the freeway barrier.
Emergency responders extricated Jacobs from his vehicle and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The driver of the Tacoma was also extricated and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
No additional details about the crash have been released as authorities continue their investigation.
