Pittsgrove Township, NJ (April 23, 2025) – A bicyclist was struck and killed Wednesday night in a tragic crash on Willow Grove Road near Parvins Mill Road in Pittsgrove Township, according to New Jersey State Police.
The fatal collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. on April 23, when a pickup truck hauling a tractor with a 15-foot-wide seeder attachment, driven by Steven J. Petronglo, 44, of Pittsgrove Township, struck 61-year-old James Goode of Vineland. Goode had been riding an electric bicycle westbound on the eastbound side of Willow Grove Road when he was hit by the right side of the tractor’s seeder attachment. Sadly, Goode succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Authorities reported that Petronglo left the scene in the pickup truck but later returned in a different vehicle after first traveling to his home to detach the tractor. Petronglo was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, strict liability vehicular homicide, tampering with evidence, and driving under the influence.
The crash remains under investigation.
