Los Angeles, CA (August 14, 2025) – A police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in a violent multi-car crash Wednesday evening that left five people injured in the Rancho Park neighborhood of West Los Angeles.
According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 7:47 p.m. on August 13 in the 2990 block of South Overland Avenue, near National Boulevard. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that deputies were pursuing a blue Lexus SUV stolen by two suspects. During the chase, the suspects reportedly threw car batteries at pursuing deputies.
The pursuit came to a violent end when the suspects’ vehicle collided with two other cars. One of the impacted vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash.
Four people sustained serious injuries and were treated by emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department. A fifth individual was evaluated for minor injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed which vehicles the injured parties were in.
