Palm Springs, CA (September 19, 2025) – A 29-year-old man, identified as Raymond Olguin Jr. of Palm Desert, was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Palm Springs, according to local authorities.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred around 8:50 a.m. on September 16 on East San Rafael Drive just west of North Avenida Caballeros. Olguin Jr. was reportedly in the roadway when an SUV struck him.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Olguin Jr. was pronounced dead on-site. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement during their preliminary investigation.
Police have ruled out alcohol or drugs as contributing factors in the crash. East San Rafael Drive was temporarily closed between Eucalyptus Drive and North Avenida Caballeros but has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing.
