Robeson County, NC (January 21, 2025) – A devastating collision on Sunday afternoon claimed the lives of a mother and her four children in Robeson County, North Carolina. Authorities reported that a car driven by 35-year-old Maribel Hernandez failed to stop at a stop sign, entering the path of an oncoming 18-wheeler along NC Highway 20 in Bladen County.
The collision resulted in the deaths of Maribel Hernandez and her children: Jorge Hernandez, 15; Bryan Hernandez, 14; Jayden Hernandez, 9; and Isabella Hernandez, 6. The truck driver involved in the crash sustained no major injuries, according to First Sgt. A.M. Pait of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
