Shreveport, LA (January 21, 2026) – A major crash involving two school buses disrupted Martin Luther King Jr. Day events in Shreveport on Monday, January 19. The buses were transporting Southwood High School band students to perform in the Krewe of Harambee MLK Day parade when the accident occurred.
According to the Louisiana State Police, the wreck took place around 11:15 a.m. along Highway 3132 East near the entrance ramp to Interstate 49 South. Emergency crews from the Shreveport Fire Department responded with more than a dozen medical units and additional police support.
