North Ridgeville, OH (June 24, 2025) – A fatal three-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck left one woman dead and three others seriously injured on Sunday afternoon in Lorain County.
According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. on June 23 at the intersection of State Route 113 and Gore Orphanage Road in Henrietta Township. Moriah Smith, 28, of Roselle, Illinois, was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion and attempted to make a left turn when her vehicle was struck by a 2022 Freightliner semi-truck.
The semi-truck, operated by a 30-year-old man from Amherst, was then struck head-on by a 2019 Cadillac XT5. The impact forced the Freightliner off the roadway, where it hit a tree and landed in a ditch.
Smith died from her injuries. The driver of the Freightliner, along with a 78-year-old Grafton man and a 67-year-old Olmsted Township woman in the Cadillac, were all transported to University Hospitals Elyria with serious injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
