Los Angeles, CA (October 16, 2025) – A multi-vehicle accident involving an overturned semi-truck caused major disruption and injuries late Tuesday night near Griffith Park.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. on October 15 on the northbound side of the 5 Freeway, just south of the westbound 134 Freeway. The collision involved a semi-truck, a black Nissan Pathfinder, a white Toyota Camry, and a black Honda Civic.
Authorities reported that the semi-truck jackknifed and overturned during the crash, spilling oil across the roadway. The resulting hazard led to a shutdown of all northbound lanes as Caltrans responded to clean up the fuel and debris.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics treated several individuals at the scene. At least one person was transported to the hospital for additional treatment. The extent of injuries among other involved parties has not yet been fully confirmed.
