RICHLAND COUNTY, OH (September 27, 2025) – A teenage driver sustained serious injuries Thursday morning following a two-vehicle collision along State Route 314 in Sharon Township.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:51 a.m. on September 25, 2025. A 16-year-old driver from Lexington, Ohio, was traveling northbound in a 2010 Honda Civic when they lost control while navigating a curve. The vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 62-year-old Gregory Ditmars of Shelby, Ohio.
Emergency crews from Shelby Fire and EMS transported the juvenile driver to Ohio Health Mansfield with serious injuries. Mr. Ditmars received minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
