Miami-Dade, FL (November 4, 2025) – Two people lost their lives and two others were seriously injured after a violent wrong-way crash sparked a second collision on Florida’s Turnpike early Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike near Bird Road on November 2. A blue Honda traveling southbound in the northbound lanes collided head-on with a silver Toyota. Both vehicles were left disabled in the roadway, blocking traffic and setting the stage for a secondary crash.

Moments later, a white Toyota struck the wrecked vehicles and an FHP patrol car that was already on scene. A trooper outside the vehicle at the time was not injured. Sadly, both the Honda and silver Toyota drivers died at the scene. The two people in the white Toyota were airlifted to Kendall HCA with serious injuries.

All northbound lanes were closed for several hours as the investigation and cleanup took place.
