Eugene, OR (August 21, 2025) – A young woman who was struck while riding her bicycle in a Eugene crosswalk earlier this month has tragically died from her injuries.
According to reports, the incident occurred just before 8 p.m. on August 8 at the intersection of East 8th Avenue and Hilyard Street. Authorities say 21-year-old Elizabeth Cardenas Figueroa of Eugene was riding her bicycle through the crosswalk when she was hit by a westbound Audi A4.
Bystanders immediately performed CPR on Figueroa until emergency crews arrived at the scene. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries on August 18.
