Parkland, WA (October 17, 2025) – A 20-year-old woman was tragically killed Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run crash at a Parkland intersection, according to local authorities.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal incident occurred on October 15 around 9:25 a.m. at the intersection of 112th Street South and Ainsworth Avenue South. A Pierce County sheriff’s deputy had attempted to stop a vehicle linked to a Department of Corrections warrant, but the suspect fled the traffic stop at a high rate of speed.
The fleeing driver ran a red light and collided with another vehicle lawfully entering the intersection. The 20-year-old woman driving that second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, a 47-year-old man, abandoned the car and fled on foot. Two passengers in the suspect vehicle — a 48-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman — were detained and transported to a hospital.
