Chicago, IL (October 29, 2025) — A Calumet Park woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a man who exited his vehicle after an earlier collision on Interstate 57.

According to the Illinois State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 4:38 a.m. on October 12 in the southbound lanes of I-57 near 112th Street. Authorities say 42-year-old Antonio Antenez-Espinoza was involved in a crash while driving a Honda sedan. After stepping out of his vehicle, he was struck by a passing Nissan SUV.

The SUV driver did not stop after the collision. Antenez-Espinoza was rushed to a nearby hospital but later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Following an extensive investigation, police identified 25-year-old Qyeenie E. Neal of Calumet Park as the driver of the Nissan. She was arrested on October 22 and charged with felony failure to report an accident involving death. Neal remains in custody at the Cook County Jail awaiting her first court appearance.
