Dana Point, CA (November 10, 2025) – A deadly hit-and-run crash claimed the life of 71-year-old Barry William Tutt on Friday afternoon, November 7, in Dana Point.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 12:00 p.m. near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Dana Point Harbor Drive. Tutt, a La Verne resident, was struck while walking in the area by a silver Ford sedan. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the incident.
Emergency responders transported Tutt to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities later located and arrested the suspected driver, 57-year-old Humberto Munoz Gatica of Laguna Niguel. He was booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI and hit-and-run.
