According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred on the morning of November 13 at the intersection of East Cottonwood Road and North Saddlehorn Lane. Roberta Hall Willhelm, 76, was driving a Buick Park Avenue and attempting a left turn onto Saddlehorn Lane when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado. The preliminary investigation indicates Willhelm failed to yield to the oncoming traffic.
Willhelm sustained serious injuries and was transported to Medical Center Hospital, where she died two days later on November 15. The 20-year-old male driver of the Silverado, from Fort Stockton, received minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
