Clemson, SC (July 1, 2026) – A head-on collision early Sunday morning claimed the life of one driver and sent two other people to the hospital in Clemson. Authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol , the Pickens County Coroner’s Office responded to the 200 block of Pendleton Road at approximately 2 a.m. on June 28 after receiving notification of a serious two-vehicle crash.
Investigators identified the deceased driver as Demetrius Rashad Johnson, 44, of Anderson. Officials said Johnson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was driving one of the vehicles involved in the head-on collision. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
