According to the California Highway Patrol , the crash was reported at approximately 9:42 p.m. on June 28 along the westbound Moreno Valley Freeway near Heacock Street. Investigators said a black Tesla struck a guardrail before leaving the roadway.
Witnesses reported that the Tesla was being driven recklessly prior to the collision and that the driver and three passengers became trapped inside the vehicle after the crash. Firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene to extricate the occupants.
The Riverside County Fire Department reported that three people were transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
