Vienna, NY (July 26, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed following a two vehicle crash on State Route 13 in the Town of Vienna, Oneida County, on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 22.
According to the New York State Police, troopers responded to the crash at approximately 5:05 p.m. on State Route 13. The preliminary investigation determined that a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by 37 year old Ryan A. Lyke of Canastota, was traveling northbound when a southbound 2020 Nissan Frontier attempted to make a left turn across the highway.
Investigators said the pickup truck, driven by 90 year old Leo G. Seaton of Camden, turned into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.
Lyke sustained critical injuries in the crash and was transported to Rome Health, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to process the scene and conduct a detailed investigation. A Drug Recognition Expert also responded and determined there were no signs of impairment on the part of the pickup truck driver.
