Marietta, GA (July 28, 2026) – A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries following a crash along Ernest Barrett Parkway in Marietta on Saturday afternoon, prompting an ongoing investigation by Cobb County police.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 1:19 p.m. on July 25 on Ernest Barrett Parkway near Anderson Estates Court.
Investigators said a 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle and a blue 2009 Toyota Corolla were traveling northbound when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the motorcyclist became separated from the motorcycle.
After the rider was ejected, the unoccupied motorcycle continued traveling northbound before striking the passenger side of the Toyota Corolla. The motorcycle then crossed the median and came to rest on the western shoulder of Ernest Barrett Parkway.
Emergency responders located the rider in a driveway in the 3300 block of Ernest Barrett Parkway. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota Corolla was not injured.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved. The Cobb County Police Department Special Operations S.T.E.P. Unit continues to investigate the crash and is asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
