Newark, DE (July 31, 2026) – Six people were hospitalized, including three who suffered critical injuries, following a multi vehicle crash with entrapment early Thursday morning in Newark, according to emergency officials. The collision occurred at approximately 12:29 a.m. on July 30 at the intersection of Pulaski Highway and South College Avenue.
According to the Delaware State Police, New Castle County Paramedics and the Christiana Fire Company responded to the scene and found several vehicles involved in the collision. Three occupants were trapped inside their vehicles, requiring firefighters to perform extrication before emergency medical crews could transport the victims.
Emergency officials said a 26 year old man sustained internal injuries and lower extremity trauma and was transported by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in critical condition. A 20 year old woman with possible internal injuries was flown by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit to Christiana Hospital in stable condition. Three additional patients were treated at the scene and transported by basic life support ambulances to area hospitals in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
