According to reports, the accident took place just after 11 p.m. on June 28 in the 6600 block of Culebra Road. San Antonio Police Department officials said the driver of a white Chevrolet veered into the opposite eastbound lane, crashing head-on into another car.
The impact caused the Chevrolet to flip onto its side. A 38-year-old woman who was riding as a passenger in the Chevrolet was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Authorities later reported that her condition had stabilized.
Both drivers remained at the scene and were determined not to be under the influence. Investigators are still working to learn what caused the driver to cross into the wrong lane. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
