Shreveport, LA (July 24, 2025) – A Bossier City Police officer was hospitalized Wednesday night after a crash involving his patrol SUV on Interstate 220. The incident disrupted traffic and sparked a joint investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 7:46 p.m. on July 23, near mile marker nine on the eastbound side of I-220, just past the bridge approaching the Benton Road exit. The officer had stopped to clear roadway debris when a second vehicle slammed into the rear of the patrol SUV, causing major damage.
The force of the impact pushed the officer into the back seat of the SUV. Both he and the other driver were transported to Willis Knighton Bossier Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Access to I-220 from North Market Road was closed for nearly an hour as first responders worked the scene.
