Antioch, CA (November 5, 2025) – A major multi-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck left four people hospitalized Tuesday morning and caused a full closure of a busy highway in Antioch.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:08 a.m. on November 4 in the eastbound lanes of State Route 4, just above Contra Loma Boulevard. A semi-truck overturned onto its side after colliding with three black sedans, blocking multiple lanes of traffic.
Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews responded to the chaotic scene and treated four injured victims. One person was transported to Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek, another to Sutter Delta Medical Center, and two others were taken to John Muir Walnut Creek Medical Center. Their conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
CHP issued a SigAlert, shutting down all eastbound lanes while crews worked for several hours to upright the truck and clear the roadway. All lanes reopened by 12:30 p.m.
