San Benito, CA (October 4, 2025) – A San Benito County Sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized after a serious multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Hollister.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at around 1 a.m. on October 3 along Highway 156, just north of Fairview Road. The deputy was reportedly stopped in his patrol vehicle, preparing to make a left turn, when another vehicle rear-ended him.
The force of the crash caused the patrol car to be pushed into oncoming traffic, where it was struck head-on by a third vehicle.
Emergency crews transported the deputy to a local hospital for treatment of a concussion and other minor injuries. Another driver involved was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not released additional details at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
