Ledyard, CT (October 26, 2025) – A motorist sustained serious injuries Saturday night after their vehicle veered off the road and crashed into the woods near the intersection of Stoddards Wharf Road and Goulart Road.
According to the Connecticut State Police, emergency crews were dispatched around 8 p.m. on October 25 after receiving reports of a single-vehicle crash. Firefighters from the Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Companies arrived to find a heavily damaged car with one person trapped inside.
Using specialized rescue tools including chains, a grip hoist, and rescue struts, responders stabilized the wreck before cutting off the roof and windshield to extricate the driver.
