Terrell, TX (July 30, 2026) – Three members of the same family were killed Sunday night after a disabled vehicle was struck by a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 80 near Terrell in Kaufman County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety the collision occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 26 on U.S. Highway 80 near Windmill Farms Boulevard. Investigators reported that a 2013 Hyundai had become disabled and was stopped in the right lane when it was struck from behind by a semi-truck.
The force of the impact sent the Hyundai off the roadway, where it overturned and caught fire in a dry creek bed. Emergency responders arrived and found Va’Necia Williams, 38, and her daughters, 14-year-old Sa’Niah Davis and 9-year-old A’veonia Davis, unresponsive inside the vehicle. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
