Warren, VT (September 23, 2026) – A 16-year-old Harwood Union High School student has died from injuries he sustained in a weekend rollover crash on Vermont Route 100 in Warren. The teenager was identified by school officials and family members as Vinny Viola of Waitsfield.
According to the Vermont State Police, the September 19 accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. near Charlie Ashley Road. Investigators reported that Viola was driving a Volkswagen Tiguan south on Vermont Route 100 when the vehicle went off the southbound side of the highway. The Volkswagen traveled approximately 300 feet before overturning.
Viola suffered serious injuries and was airlifted from the crash scene to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, for emergency treatment. On September 22, Vermont State Police and Harwood school officials confirmed that Viola had died from his injuries that morning.
