According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 10:15 p.m. on January 6 at the intersection of Sixth Street and Atlantic Avenue. Officials say a 2021 orange BMW 330i was traveling east on Sixth Street when it ran a red light and collided with a southbound 2022 gray Nissan Altima in the intersection. The BMW continued forward, striking a northbound black 2017 Kia Soul.
Passengers Bobbi Smith, 24, and Gilberto Lopez, 21, both inside the Nissan, were found unconscious at the scene.
