Town of Spring Prairie, WI (July 6, 2025) – A collision between a three-wheeled motorcycle and an SUV left one man dead and two others severely injured Saturday morning in the Town of Spring Prairie, according to local authorities.
According to reports, the deadly crash happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. on July 5 near the intersection of State Highway 11 and County Highway JS. Walworth County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to find the motorcycle with significant front-end damage and the SUV resting on its side. Investigators say Mark Weis, 73, of Burlington, was driving the motorcycle westbound on State Highway 11 when an SUV, traveling westbound on County Highway JS, attempted to merge onto Highway 11. Preliminary findings suggest the SUV may have turned in front of the motorcycle, causing it to collide with the driver’s side of the SUV.
Authorities pronounced Weis dead at the scene. His passenger and the driver of the SUV, whose names have not yet been released, suffered severe injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for further care. Officials confirmed neither the driver nor the passenger of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Multiple emergency agencies, including local fire departments, EMS, the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office, and good Samaritans, responded to assist at the scene. The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances of this fatal incident.
