ORRINGTON, ME (January 4, 2025) – A serious head-on collision on Route 15 in Orrington sent three people to the hospital Friday afternoon, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred around 4:40 PM in the area of Hatfield Road. Authorities report that a 2009 Ford F-150, driven by a single female occupant, was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line. The truck collided head-on with a northbound 2023 Toyota sedan, occupied by a male and female. The impact pushed the Toyota into a tree, while the truck came to rest in the northbound lane.

Emergency responders from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, local police, and fire departments arrived on the scene. All three individuals involved were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Their identities have not yet been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
