According to the California Highway Patrol, emergency crews were called to the 600 block of L Street at approximately 6:30 a.m. on October 9. Upon arrival, they found the elderly pedestrian unresponsive in the roadway. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial reports indicate that a gray 2014 Toyota Corolla, driven by another 77-year-old man, was traveling eastbound on L Street when he struck the pedestrian who was reportedly in the roadway at the time. The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with police, and was unharmed.
