Santa Ana, CA (January 22, 2025) – Juan Lopez Peñuelas, 37, of San Clemente, was fatally injured in an auto-pedestrian accident on Monday evening, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of First Street and Harbor Boulevard. Authorities reported that Peñuelas was walking south across First Street when an eastbound vehicle struck him.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures before transporting Peñuelas to a hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police stated that DUI was not suspected.
