Lubbock, TX (November 5, 2025) – A serious collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup sent two people to the hospital early Tuesday morning in east Lubbock.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened just before 6:45 a.m. on November 4 in the 7000 block of Southeast Drive, near Loop 289. Authorities reported that 64-year-old David Chavera was driving a semi-truck northwest on Southeast Drive when he crossed into the southeast-bound lane and crashed into a pickup truck driven by 53-year-old Isabel Torres.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries. Chavera was transported to Covenant Medical Center, while Torres was taken to UMC for treatment. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and further information has not yet been released.
