Yuba City, CA. (December 5, 2025) – A 94-year-old man sustained serious injuries Tuesday morning in a collision involving a semi-truck at a busy intersection in Yuba City.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. on December 2 at the junction of Highway 99 and Highway 20. Authorities reported that a northbound semi-truck, operated by a 35-year-old man, was unable to avoid a collision after a Buick Verano entered the intersection during a red light.
The Buick was attempting a left turn onto eastbound Highway 20 when the truck collided with it. The elderly driver of the Buick suffered major injuries and was transported to Adventist Rideout Hospital for emergency medical care. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.
Investigators have ruled out alcohol and drug use as contributing factors. The crash remains under investigation to determine whether any additional violations occurred.
