Long Beach, CA (December 25, 2025) – A serious collision between a Metro A Line train and a vehicle in Long Beach left one man hospitalized on Sunday evening, according to fire officials.
According to the California Highway Patrol, emergency crews with the Long Beach Fire Department responded at approximately 7:54 p.m. on December 22 to a crash at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Willow Street, where Metro trains run along the median.
The male driver, reportedly in his 30s, became trapped inside the vehicle following the impact. The department’s Urban Search and Rescue Task Force used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate him from the wreckage. He was transported to a nearby trauma center in serious condition.
