Jasper, TX (October 21, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash involving a log truck left one man injured Monday evening at a busy intersection in Jasper.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision took place shortly before 8:00 p.m. on October 20, 2025, at the intersection of Highway 96 and Houston Street. Investigators say a large log truck was traveling westbound on Houston Street and attempted to turn north onto Highway 96. As it turned, the load of logs on the truck swung out and struck a westbound Mercedes sedan that was also preparing to turn north.
The driver of the sedan, identified as 50-year-old Mario Cole, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for medical care. The truck driver, 23-year-old Brennon Lawrence, was not injured.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
