Memphis, TN (January 16, 2026) – A Memphis police officer was injured Monday morning during a two-vehicle crash in the Whitehaven neighborhood.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. on January 12 at the intersection of Elvis Presley Boulevard and Winchester Road. Officer Ryan Walker was driving an unmarked police vehicle east on Winchester when, according to surveillance footage and police findings, he ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Tacoma traveling northbound on Elvis Presley Boulevard.
Although Officer Walker was not responding to an emergency and no dashcam was in use, the crash resulted in both vehicles being towed and both drivers being taken to the hospital. The officer sustained minor injuries, and the condition of the second driver was not detailed.
MPD has not filed any charges as the investigation remains ongoing.
