Galveston, TX (September 23, 2025) – A deadly wrong-way crash early Monday morning on Interstate 45 left one person dead and another critically injured at the base of the Galveston Causeway.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred just after midnight on September 22 near Tiki Drive. Authorities say a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-45 when it collided with multiple vehicles. In total, four vehicles were involved in the crash, and one reportedly caught fire following the impact.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
