Arlington, TX (August 28, 2025) — A tragic wrong-way collision in east Arlington claimed the life of 69-year-old Alvin Earl Wells late Tuesday night, according to officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal accident occurred shortly after 11:15 p.m. on August 26 in the 2700 block of East Park Row Drive, near Texas State Highway 360. Investigators say Wells was driving a Dodge Ram westbound in the eastbound lanes of East Park Row Drive when his vehicle collided head-on with a GMC Acadia.
Wells, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The driver and passenger in the GMC sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities believe alcohol may have contributed to the crash. The Arlington Police Department is continuing to investigate.
