Groesbeck, TX (July 26, 2025) – A devastating crash near Groesbeck claimed the lives of two local residents early Thursday morning when a truck failed to stop at a rural intersection.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 8:00 a.m. on July 25 at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 39 and State Highway 164. Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard stated that the driver of a Dodge Ram entered the intersection without stopping at the posted sign, crashing into a Honda sedan.
The victims, identified as 31-year-old Jordan Trexler and 55-year-old Sheila Rutledge, both of Groesbeck, were pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge Ram driver was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care, though no updates on their condition have been released.
